FAQs

Is this only for eCommerce teams?
No. We demo ecommerce flows to make patterns clear, but the screen reader principles and fixes—such as labels, focus management, error handling, announcements, and names-roles-states—apply to any website or web app in any industry.

Why compare an accessible site with one that has issues?
Side-by-side screen reader navigation makes the differences unmistakable. You’ll see correct use of headings/landmarks, names-roles-states, focus, and form validation, then map common failures to WCAG 2.2 and EN 301 549 with practical remediation steps that reduce abandonment and support EAA/ADA compliance.

Why include a European (Ireland-based) website in the demo?
To connect directly to the European Accessibility Act (EAA). If you sell into the EU, your websites and apps are in scope. Showing an Ireland-based example illustrates how EAA expectations play out in practice. Learn more: European Accessibility Act guide

Will captions and other accommodations be provided?

Yes—live captions will be available. To request additional accommodations, email bethany.sirven@usablenet.com at least 3 business days in advance, if possible.

Will I receive the recording?

Yes. All registrants receive the recording, slides,  and related resources after the session.

How can we ask questions about our site?
Bring questions to the live Q&A, or request a 15-minute checkout review after the session for WCAG 2.2 / EN 301 549 guidance and next steps.
