ADA Web and App lawsuits are surging with an average of 100 filings in a week. It's only been one year since the US Supreme Court denied a petition from pizza giant Domino’s, leaving in place a lower court decision against the company.  However, the circumstances of the covid-19 lockdown have snowballed the impact of inaccessible websites and apps for people with disabilities. In 2020, 30 years after the passing of the ADA, the demand for equal access and digital accessibility has never been greater.  The increase in lawsuit activity has even attracted new attention from US Congress. A new bill, the Online Accessibility Act is proposed in the House.

View as Jennifer Rusie, Shareholder at Ogletree Deakins, and Jason Taylor, CIO at UsableNet present a special webinar on the state of online accessibility in 2020. Our presenters review what companies can do to serve more of their customers, including those in the disability community.

This webinar will cover:

  • ADA lawsuits and more: legal actions a plaintiff may take if a website or app is inaccessible
  • The Online Accessibility Act, proposed digital accessibility legislation in Congress
  • How to know if your website or app is inaccessible (Before you receive legal action)
  • What to expect if your company receives a website or app accessibility claim
  • A review of legal options available to you for website and app lawsuits
  • How to get started with website and app accessibility
  • Best practices to mitigate your risk of legal action during your remediation
